


Description
The Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) & Building Controls Manager is a member of the Experience Production responsible for The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis’ HVAC, electrical and plumbing system operations, building automation control systems and associated staff. The manager oversees the coordination of maintenance, cleaning, repair and replacement of the museum’s MEP systems. The incumbent works with staff and outside contractors to complete layouts, designs, estimates and installation of new equipment. They coordinate with museum colleagues to address needs prior to and throughout the implementation of any MEP and/or building automation controls projects.

Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
- Associates degree or certification in the HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical and/or Building Automation Controls field.
- Three (3) years’ experience in the field of HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical and/or Building Automation Controls operations and repairs in a facility of similar size and/or like operating systems. Supervisory experience preferred.
- A proven track record of understanding general building maintenance and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Knowledge of Johnson Controls Metasys and DSC operations and service preferred.
- General knowledge of boiler, chiller, electrical and plumbing operations and maintenance.
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including some nights, weekends and/or holidays depending on scheduling to cover a seven day operation and/or address emergencies.
- Must work well in a fast paced, cooperative environment which highly values diversity.
- Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
- High level of attention to detail. Able to work in a variety of tasks from light to heavy manual labor.
- Good communication skills both verbal and written.
ADA REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to perform extensive work in indoor environments, to perceive space, to read documents and diagrams and to view computer monitor.
- Must be able to communicate in planning and execution of projects verbally and through written communication. Team and group dialog required for communication of plans and concepts.
- Must be able to safely use equipment and materials, sit, stand, kneel and crawl.
- Must be able to lift objects up to 50 pounds of weight. Must tolerate dust in the environment and capacity to work in hot and cold working conditions.
- Required ability to traverse the physical plant and visit and work at multiple locations. Must possess ability to negotiate local travel via conventional transportation.
