Description

Cheatham and Associates, PA located in the coastal community of Wilmington, NC is seeking a registered ME for HVAC design and project management. The design projects will be for K-12 Schools, Higher Education Schools, Municipal Buildings, Office Buildings and more. This position is hands on, from collaborating at schematic phase, assisting the client through design and bidding, observing the project’s construction to project completion and final closeout. 

Requirements

Responsibilities:

• Design new or upgrading/replacing existing HVAC systems.

• Establish project scope and project fees.

• Provide design calculations for sizing equipment, ductwork, and ventilation, etc.

• Design and prepare HVAC drawings and specifications.

• Provide submittal review for HVAC equipment.

• Provide site observations during the design and installation of HVAC systems and components and support the startup, testing, and balancing (TAB) activities.

• Respond to Request for Information (RFIs) that arise during construction.

Qualifications:

• BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering under an ABET accredited engineering curriculum.

• 5 + years’ experience in HVAC design.

• Knowledgeable of international codes, and state building codes and standards

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.

• Hold a Professional Engineer license.

• Experience with Autodesk Design Software (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM)

• Experience with Bluebeam Revu, Trane 3D
