Description

The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality - Office of Stormwater Management in our Central Office location seeks a highly motivated individual to serve as a Plan Reviewer. This position is responsible for reviewing design drawing plans submitted for construction for conformance with the Stormwater Management (SWM) Act and the Erosion and Sediment Control (ESC) Law and attendant regulations. The Stormwater Plan Reviewer performs complete, timely, and accurate plan reviews varying in complexity for water quantity and water quality technical criteria, for private, local, state, and federal projects in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and agency guidance. This position also provides regulatory and technical assistance to the general public, permittees, consultants, state and federal agencies. The position requires knowledge of surface water hydrology principles and water quality science and the ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written, with regulated parties and the public. Ability to read, interpret, and apply complex policies, guidelines, and regulations and evaluate plan applications.
