CAD Designer/ Design Assistant

Founded in 1987, DW Design Group Inc., is a high-end residential Interior Design firm, located in the lovely city area of Southlake, Texas.  The City of Southlake is located near the DFW Airport which is situated approximately 25 minutes from downtown Dallas and Fort Worth.   The proximity provides easy access to our clients to the north of the metroplex and in the southern areas too.

Our projects have been published in several books and magazines over the years since the founding of our firm.  Although most of our projects are typically in the DFW area, we currently have 3 major residential interior design jobs & consulting on 30 condominium in Colorado;  we also have one consulting and interior design project in Missouri;  in addition to serving our new and established clients in the DFW area.   

We often oversee our own remodels that are in the $300K to $600K range.  Its not uncommon for our Interior Design projects to be in the $2M to $3.5M range. 

Our resources and vendors are from all around the globe and we work directly with manufacturers whenever possible.  We excel working with artisans and craftsmen's in all fields of the design arts.   We are often called upon to design furniture and special pieces for our projects and clients. 

Fabric showings and vendor PK meetings are held on a regular basis.

COMPENSATION: 

* Salary starting in the $40K to $50K range; plus performance bonuses (bonuses are typically tied to the overall earnings and profit of the company). 

* We offer an employee 401K contribution option and the company will match a percentage of your contribution. 

* Other benefits offered include 2 weeks paid vacation and 1 week of personal time...for qualifying full-time employees. 

* Some design positions may include an invitation to go to the Highpoint Furniture Market in April and October at company expense. 

* Commissions are paid on sales of furnishings and projects brought to the company. 

 Responsibilities include:

-Working alongside the lead designer to manage projects and communicate with clients, builders and sub-contractors daily in a fast-paced environment.

-Creating visuals and presentations for clients via rendered floor plans, 3D models, and photoshopped images.

-Creating detailed specifications, plans and visuals to communicate designs to builders, vendors and sub-contractors for both bidding and building purposes.

-Assisting with organizing and implementing project timelines/schedules.

-Creating and adding content to the company’s website through squarespace.

- Opportunity for growth and commissions on custom furniture, bedding, accessory and drapery sales.

-Tasks may be assigned to help with the studio to maintain the proper visual and functional organization of the studio.

Requirements

Experience with the following programs preferred: 

-Sketchup + Layout (required)

-SU Podium (or rendering program of choice)

-Portfolio of design work (required)

-Microsoft Office Suite

-Adobe Suite (mainly photoshop)

-Background and education in Interior Design

*Miscellaneous and other studio tasks as required

*Architectural experience is not require but helpful

*Kitchen and Bath design experience is not required but helpful

The person hired must be present in the studio...this is not a remote, virtual, or work from home position!
