Salary Range: $60,000 to top of market depending on ability, experience and skill level.

Job Title:         Energy Modeling Engineer / Project Manager

Reports to:      Engineering Manager 

Position Overview

The Energy Modeling Engineer provides engineering, applications, and client support. This is accomplished through the coordination of requests with the engineers and internal engineering groups.

Essential Job Functions

  • Perform deep dive Energy Analysis on various system types as required.
  • Assist with system design, equipment design and sequences of operations.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects producing deliverables on time.
  • Demonstrate technical expertise to develop industry credibility, loyalty, and trust.
  • Attend customer meetings and jobsites, as necessary.
  • Attend local and remote training as needed.
  • Support the client, engineering, and applications team with customer information.
  • Review project plans and specifications.
  • Collaboratively educate, train and work with customers, as necessary.
  • Prepare high quality energy analysis and timely customer presentations when requested.



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning systems, preferably with a background in designing HVAC systems and controls.
  • 4-8 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Excellent initiative, and interpersonal communications skills.
  • Professional Engineer preferred.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, and energy modeling software are required.
  • Valid Driver’s license and personal vehicle for meeting and jobsite visits as necessary, mileage is reimbursed at IRS rates.
  • The company will perform a background check prior to employment.
  • The company will perform a drug test prior to employment and randomly test employees for compliance with its drug-free workplace policy. As used in this policy, “random testing” means a method of selection of employees for testing, performed by an outside third party. The selection will result in an equal probability that any employee from a group of employees will be tested.

Engineering Skills

A desire for high quality, detailed engineering work. Strong desire for energy efficiency and long-term sustainability. Understanding of vast majority of HVAC system types, heat transfer, psychrometrics. Ability and desire to grasp new concepts and develop new strategies. 3D capable mind. Desire to innovate and push the industry forward. 

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend multi-step instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write high quality correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. 

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs. 

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Mental stamina for problem solving while simultaneously prioritizing multiple tasks. 

Environmental Requirements

Will be required to work in an office environment and occasionally in the field. 

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to operate computer keyboard and telephone, reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
