About the Program at Mitchell Technical College
Our ECM program is a premier Associate of Applied Science (AAS) track. We give students real, hands-on experience in residential/commercial wiring, motor controls, PLCs, and the National Electrical Code (NEC). Our curriculum directly prepares graduates for immediate employment and counts for 2,000 hours toward their South Dakota Journeyman certification. You will be teaching in state-of-the-art labs with students who are eager to learn the trade.
What You Will Do (Key Responsibilities)
Share your real-world electrical knowledge through hands-on lab demonstrations and classroom discussions.
Guide, mentor, and grade students as they practice conduit bending, wiring, troubleshooting, and code compliance.
Work alongside a supportive faculty team to keep lab projects aligned with current industry standards.
Help welcome and encourage incoming students interested in the electrical trade.
